Mobox opens up a series of new, MoDragon-related events for the month of June, building up toward their eventual release of Dragonverse, an enchanted land full of adventure and wonder for all Dragon owners!

Mobox hasn’t waited long to introduce the next phase of their MoDragon adventure! Starting on June 29th, MoDragon owners will be able to engage in several new acitivities. This event, dubbed ‘Unleash the Magic’ features three MoDragon related activities — Expeditions, Soul Awakening, and Dragon Taming.

Dragon Expedition is a quest style system that opens on June 29th and runs for four weeks. Expeditions have difficulty levels, with some requiring specific attributes or multiple Dragons. Dragons can only join one Expedition at a time. Dragons on Expeditions can still engage in other Dragon activities, but cannot listed, sold, traded, or burned. Doing so will forfeit any rewards. Expedition options refresh every 24 hours and players earn MoDragon Soul by completing Expeditions.

These Souls are used at the Dragon Soul Altar to receive blessings of the Dragon God. The altar opens on June 29th and will also be open for four weeks. In addition to Expeditions, players also earn Soul for Dragon purchases, breedings, upgrades, evolutions — pretty much any MoDragon related activity. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any indication of what these blessings are good for, but presumably it’s worth something!

Dragon Taming is open for the same time period as the other two events, and rewards players with weekly airdrops based on the number of Dragon Taming points they have accumulated. Players earn Dragon Taming points by purchasing, breeding, upgrading, and ascending their MoDragons. Higher rarity Dragons earn more points.

This is all building up to Dragonverse, a game realm with all the MoDragon features plus opportunities to adventure and battle with your dragons.

What are MoDragons?

MoDragons are a recently released NFT collection from Mobox on the Arbitrum chain. Players collect and breed these Dragons to try to secure their spot at the top of the collection leaderboard. MoDragons have both a daily leaderboard and a weekly ‘talent’ ranking. Players gain points on the talent leaderboard by upgrading and enhancing their Dragons.

Each Dragon can breed up to 7 times, though Legendary Dragons refuse to breed at all! Also, when matching Dragons for breeding, they must be within two tiers of each other. And unlike some breeding features in other games, MoDragons doesn’t allow parents to breed with their offspring, or for siblings to breed together.

The total collection power, or DragonMo Power, also factors into what Mobox is calling pre-mining. This allows the player to passively earn dragon stones that come in five different varieties. These will have some use in future expansions to the MoDragon system.

And finally, MoDragons also generate tickets for the Elemental Carnival. Players use this tickets on a spinning wheel to win prizes such as MBOX tokens and Dragon Eggs!

What is MOBOX?

Another land sale hits The Sandbox, this on for a music-oriented neighborhood centered around an estate owned by Warner Music Group. With a dozen other musical artists and companies nearby, this area could end up being a hub for musically themed Sandbox experiences!

Raffle signups began on June 22nd and remain open through July 12th. Winners will be announced on July 14th, with sales opening that same day and running through July 18th. Any unpurchased plots from the sale head to OpenSea for auction. In addition to the raffle, there will also be 11 Estate plots and 10 small plots up for auction starting on the 14th also. Raffle entry, auctions, and land plot purchases are all on the Polygon network. Purchases are made with SAND tokens.

Also, as an additional bonus for this sale, those who purchase Premium land plots will have an opportunity to win tickets to real life concerts. No details available yet for that. But it’s always nice to see real life perks included in NFT sales!

The Sandbox has been heavily promoting the idea of neighborhoods in their virtual world. At the moment, plot proximity has no effect on gameplay. However, at some point the future, there will be some kind of ability to travel between adjacent plots. Which could make who you have for neighbors somewhat important!

Following up on their very successful series of Alpha playtests, Phantom Galaxies opened up their first Beta Phase a little over a month ago to a very small set of their players. Now, after a few weeks of testing, they are ready to expand this phase to include a larger playerbase, though you still need to own an NFT to participate.

Getting access to Phase of Beta 2 for Phantom Galaxies requires owning one of several NFTs. Anyone who holds a ‘Planet Genesis Mintpass’, a ‘The Hopeful’ NFT, or a ‘Zorran’s Favour’ NFT should now have access to the beta. Players can download the game and retrieve their beta codes on the Phantom Galaxies website.

Unlike the alpha, this testing phase doesn’t include any promised rewards. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if the team hands out a badge or some other sort of proof of participation item. But even without rewards, the game is actually fun to play!

What’s New in Beta 2?

This beta brings a number of new features to this space-based, mech-combat, starship-piloting, RPG. Starfighters have seen an overhaul across the board with new abilities and updated visuals. We also have a new game system around Heat management when piloting a starship. As players maneuver and fight, their ship begins to heat up. Overheat, and the ship is destroyed. Players will need to keep an eye on their Heat levels during combat missions and know when to back off and cool down before re-engaging!

This beta phase starts everyone fresh from the beginning again. And though there are some changes, it’s a familiar experience for anyone who played in the alpha test. For those new to Phantom Galaxies, the game is very user friendly. The story-based plotline walks you through learning different parts of the game through a series of quests as it builds up the danger and adds more options for the players.

And for those are looking for a social scene, it is now possible to meet up with other players on Halberd-001, the starting space station. The first multiplayer hub in the game has already seen some activity. Hopefully this feature will continue to grow into an active hangout scene for the Phantom Galaxies playerbase.

What is Planet IX?

Planet IX is a complex mining / staking game built on the Polygon network. Players stake Land NFTs, or PIX, to hexes around their central base to generate resources. The basic resource is Waste, which players can sell back to the game. To begin building players need contracts for each base level they wish to expand on.

Players stake PIX into the hexes around their Mission Control to generate resources. If a player has enough PIX that are adjacent to each other on the world map, they can combine them to create Territories, which provide extra bonuses. On top of that, players can construct facilities to produce Energy and make other improvements on their tiles, craft various facilities and blueprints, and stake Energy to earn IXT tokens.

Players also own shares of the in-game corporations earning passive revenue from in-game transactions.

Planet IX is not free to play. Players need to own at least one PIX to play. Supposedly they will have some sort of free to play option in the future. But for now, you need Land NFTs to play. Players must own PIX, to then stake them into their accessible plots. These plots then generate Waste, which the player can sell for tokens to build up their plots and start producing other resources.

LAND and the LANDS Map LANDS are blockchain-backed virtual tokens (using the GD-CC-721 standard for NFTs) representing physical parcels of the GDC Metaverse. They allow players to own a portion of the Metaverse and thus be able to host content (ASSETS and GAMES). GDC Metaverse is based on a map of (25 maps) LANDS (1 lakh lands).

The original planned mint date for the Bushi Battlepass was June 1st, and then June 6th. And just today the date was moved again, this time to June 14th! So you still have a chance to learn more and see if you want to join in on this Battlepass mint!

Bushi plans to launch their open alpha and the Battlepass mint on the same day. And with so many moving parts, they have decided to delay that date — twice. Current ETA is June 14th, 2023.

Bushi will be free to play for this alpha. Though once the game is officially launched, the team plans to require a Battlepass in order to play. But there are plenty of other reasons to be interested in the Bushi Battlepass.

This Battlepass includes 70 levels, 20+ in-game items (including characters, weapons, and visual effects), currency rewards, a guaranteed airdrop, and a special Season 1 Discord Role that promises special perks like guaranteed whitelists, other airdrops, access to a special alpha, and a ‘sick collectible image!’

Battlepasses come in rarities, with rarer Passes receiving a more exclusive, game-item airdrop.

This Battle Pass collection is limited to 5,000 mints and each mint costs 25 SUI tokens. Same price for everyone whether they get their Pass from the whitelist ot he public sale. And while it’s likely too late to find a whitelist spot, you can still lurk around for the public mint. There are only 1,000 whitelist spots avilable, but each one can mint up to five Pases. It’s unlikely that everyone on the whitelist will do that, so there should be an opportunity to pick up a Pass during the public portion of the sale.

But, you will need to make sure that you are setup with the right kind of wallet and some SUI tokens as well.

In order to participate in this mint for the Bushi Battle Pass, you will need a compatible wallet and some SUI tokens.
The first thing you’ll need is a wallet that can support the Sui token. Some popular wallet options include Ethos Wallet, Martian Wallet, Ledger, and the SUI Wallet extension. Then you will need 25 SUI tokens per mint (plus a little extra for gas fees). The SUI tokens are available through most major exchanges.

Mobox makes a cross-chain expansion to their web3 gaming system with the addition of MoDragons, a dragon collecting and breeding simulation. MoDragon not only brings new NFTs and competitions to Mobox, but it also expands their ecosystem to the the Arbitrum chain!

Mobox unleashes the dragons! MoDragons to be specific. MoDragons are NFTs that exist on the Arbitrum chain but are still part of the Mobox system. This is a big move for Mobox who announced their plans to go cross-chain earlier this year. MoDragon is the first app in the Mobox world to exist on Arbitrum.

The original Dragons were airdropped to members of the community last week. Now players can collect and breed these Dragons and try to secure their spot at the top of the collection leaderboard. MoDragons have both a daily leaderboard and a weekly ‘talent’ ranking. Players gain points on the talent leaderboard by upgrading and enhancing their Dragons.

These leaderboard contests begin on June 1st. The team has hinted at other related events in the month of June as well.

Until then, the main feature of the MoDragon universe is breeding. Each Dragon can breed up to 7 times, though Legendary Dragons refuse to breed at all! Also, when matching Dragons for breeding, they must be within two tiers of each other. And unlike some breeding features in other games, MoDragons doesn’t allow parents to breed with their offspring, or for siblings to breed together.

The total collection power, or DragonMo Power, also factors into what Mobox is calling pre-mining. This allows the player to passively earn dragon stones that come in five different varieties. These will have some use in future expansions to the MoDragon system.

Sky Mavis, the creator of non-fungible token (NFT) project Axie Infinity, is launching its Axie Infinity: Origins card game on the Apple App Store in key markets where the game is most popular. The game was previously available in limited regions on the Google Play store and through the company’s Mavis Hub.

The card-based strategy game, which provides players with free non-NFT “starter” characters, will first launch in the Apple store across Latin America and Asia in countries including Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Venezuela, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam. The game has 1.5 million installs across all platforms and plans to continue its global expansion via Google and Apple mobile users.

Sky Mavis is also launching Mavis Market, a curated NFT marketplace powered by the company’s native Ronin blockchain. From Wednesday, some collectibles from third-party game or dapp developers who deploy on Ronin will be available on the marketplace. The company also plans to launch a merch store.

“Sky Mavis remains committed to our vision of a player-owner digital nation and is excited to work with app stores to open our ecosystem to a new generation of Lunacians,” said Sky Mavis CEO Trung Nguyen.

In order to actually level up a hero, whichever type, the hero has to earn experience points by completing adventures and doing attack and defense missions. Once the necessary number of XP is reached, the hero levels up, gets their health fully restored, and gains a couple of upgrading points that can be used towards improving various stats, that include the following: Hero’s speed, Hero’s force (attack and defense), Attack of units, Defense of units and Speed of units. Players can further enhance their character using various different items as well.

Star Atlas unveils a new play and earn mini-game / test event called Escape Velocity. This game sees players moving around a grid map, searching for treasures which can include everything from basic resources up to a legendary ship!

A new play and earn event comes to Star Atlas with a game called Escape Velocity.

In order to participate in this test event, players must lockup 1000 ATLAS tokens (current cost ~$3) to spawn a ship. These tokens are fully refundable when the player chooses to despawn their ship.

In Escape Velocity, players move ships around a grid map and scan for treasures. Each grid point represents a star system and also equates to a cartesian coordinate on the Solana blockchain. Some squares hold star systems, but this is just a graphical effect at the moment — it has no effect on gameplay.
Star Atlas says that treasures spawn randomly and stay until found. The exact spawning mechanism is secret, though supposedly the number of players and the amount of game activity can effect the spawn rate.

Warping and Scanning both have a separate, 30 second cooldown. And though it’s fun to find things, the actual gameplay becomes tedious pretty quickly. Especially since every warp and scan requires a wallet transaction. I can see this game being filled with bots very quickly. In fact, it seems kind of perfectly suited for automation!

But the potential to score some nice NFT loot, including Stake Claims and even a Fimbul BYOS Tankship (a Legendary ship that would cost $97,500 USD if you wanted to buy it!) is sure to draw in plenty of players.

Aside from playing Escape Velocity, Star Atlas players can also accumulate resources with Claim Stakes. Eventually, Claim Stakes will need to actually be placed on land areas in-game, but for now, owners can stake them on the Star Atlas website and receive a passive income of food, ammunition, fuel, and toolkits.
Players can purchase common level Claim Stakes for as low as $30 USD, but the price goes up quite quickly for higher rarities.

This is the second passive staking phase for Star Atlas. They also allow ship owners to earn ATLAS tokens by pledging their ships to support one of the three main factions.
